I’m sharing here a deeply personal conversation I recently had with my mom. A woman I love deeply, and who also shaped some of the hardest parts of who I am.
When she asked me why I never wanted kids, the question took me off guard. I was so mad that she asked me something so personal.
My mom and I have never had that type of relationship. She was never my confidant or friend.
She was the person who spent her life running away from difficult conversations. Pretending the ugly or uncomfortable was not happening.
